WHY KERN EXISTS

Walk into any Albert Heijn dairy aisle.

You'll find plain cottage cheese in a plastic tub. You'll find flavored cottage cheese pumped with sucralose, modified starch, and 'natural flavoring' invented in a lab. You'll find protein yogurts thickened with three kinds of gum. Granola pots with 18g of added sugar. Quark snacks engineered to survive a year on a shelf.

What you won't find? A real cottage cheese snack pot. High in protein. Low in processing. Made from organic Dutch milk you can actually trace to a farm. So we made it. Because nobody else did.

What's in the cup

Six honest ingredients. Nothing else.

  • Organic Dutch whole-milk cottage cheese

Single-source farm in the Randstad. Cultured slow, hand-drained, no shortcuts.

  • Raw almonds & hazelnuts

Sourced from a single grove in Piemonte.

  • California walnuts

    Halved, never broken into dust.

  • Sun-dried raisins

    Sulfite-free, plump, properly sweet.

  • Freeze-dried raspberries

Picked at peak, crisp on the spoon.

  • Wild blueberries

    Tiny, intense, slightly tart.

The format

The topping lives in its own little dome.

Dry on top. Wet on the bottom. A clear dome keeps them apart, so the nuts stay crunchy, the berries stay bright, and we don't need preservatives, stabilizers, or gums to hold things together. Tip, stir, eat. The cup is recyclable. The foil peels clean.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

I started Kern because I got tired of reading labels in Albert Heijn. I wanted cottage cheese the way my grandmother bought it. Whole-milk, slow-cultured, from a farm with a name. And I wanted it portable, with nuts and berries that hadn't been engineered to survive a year on a shelf. Six ingredients. Made by hand. Sold while fresh. That's it.
